Death was a death metal band from Tampa, Florida, United States. Death are often mentioned alongside Possessed as the forefathers of death metal, whose influence extends to extreme metal to this day. The band's style continued to evolve under Chuck Schuldiner. From the raw and fast Death Metal of the early days to technically demanding Technical Death Metal with elements from Progressive Metal.
